Where we are going.

We love Baldwin City. We love Kansas. And we love the nations. The Lord instills in His people a desire to make disciples who honor Him as God in every facet of life. We want to see individuals, families, and our community flourish through instituting God’s ways out of Love. That is our aim.

Our aim is not limited to Baldwin though. God is a global God, and we want to bring The message of Reconciliation to the ends of the Earth - glorifying God and benefitting others as we do so.

The Great Mandate

Be fruitful. Multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it.

While Genesis 1:28 was given by God to man long ago as a blessing, it is still relevant today. God’s vision for his created world was to fill it with people who bear his image and walk in joyful worship. Today, we take up that mandate to take the Gospel to the ends of the Earth through the spread of the Gospel. Ultimately, we seek to see a world full of people walking in joyful obedience and worship.

The Great Command

Love God with all that you are. Love your neighbor as yourself.

When asked what the most important commandment was, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6:4-5. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus defines what is most important (love for God and others) and then clarifies what kind of love - a selfless desire for the flourishing and benefit of others, starting with God and translating to people (Mark 12:29-31). That is our mission, to glorify God and to benefit others.

All authority has been given to Jesus, go therefore and make disciples.

Recognizing humanity’s purpose in the Great Mandate, and our focus in the Great Command, Jesus clarifies our mission in the Great Commission. In Matthew 28:18-20, one of Jesus’ final instructions was that of life long purpose, to train others in the way of the Lord by proclaiming the Gospel for the repentance of sins alongside teaching them the ways of God in everyday life.

He then makes a promise: “And I will be with you to the ends of the age.”

As we pursue the Great Mandate, Command and Commission, the presence of the Lord in the life of the Christian cannot be overstated. We seek to live a life of loving obedience to the voice of God as we go about our days.
